Report Features
The FYN Layouts App enhances the standard reports in Business Central with powerful reporting capabilities.
It enables you to create attractive, well-structured documents that impress both visually and in content — without any coding effort.
The advanced reports are based on Microsoft standard layouts and offer the following improvements:
Key Feature Details
Document Headline
The headline is entered directly in the header section of the sales or purchase document and transferred into the report.
Unlike the standard layout, it is prominently displayed above the line items, allowing your customer to immediately see what the document is about.
📌 Example: “Quote for your new POS system”
Alternative & Optional Lines
This feature is especially helpful during the quoting process:
- A note is automatically inserted in the sales document when a line is marked as optional or alternative.
- These lines are visually highlighted and excluded from the document’s totals.
- When converting a quote into an order, these lines must be removed or converted into regular items.
🔎 optional = additionally available / alternative = instead of another line
Subtotal Function
The reports support the creation of clearly defined subtotal sections.
This helps improve structure — especially in large quotes or orders.
How it works:
- Start section: Comment line with “Subtotal Start”
- Add lines (items, services, etc.)
- End section: Comment line with “Subtotal End”
💡 Subtotals can optionally be displayed above and/or below the section.
Line Numbering
Line numbers are automatically generated and — if desired — can be multi-level.
Especially in combination with subtotals, this creates a logical and traceable structure for your customers.
