EPC QR Code
The EPC QR Code is an efficient way to simplify invoice payments. It is generated directly from the sales header data and can be printed on the invoice to enable customers to make quick and error-free SEPA transfers.
Instead of manually entering bank details, the customer can simply scan the QR code using their banking app. All payment-relevant information is then automatically populated. This saves time and reduces errors that are common with manual entry.
QR Code Generation
The EPC QR Code is automatically generated from the posted sales invoice. The system uses various fields from the sales header:
- Name of the payee
- Company’s IBAN and BIC
- Invoice amount
- Invoice number as payment reference
- etc.
The EPC QR Code is printed in the header of the invoice. It follows a standardized format and size so that it can be easily scanned by common banking apps.
Proper generation depends on all required payment data being maintained in the company information. If IBAN or BIC is missing, the QR code cannot be created.
Print Control
Not every invoice requires an EPC QR Code — therefore, the request page of the posted sales invoice offers flexible control. Before printing or exporting the invoice as a PDF, the user can choose whether the QR code should be included.
This individual control is particularly useful when the company offers different payment options. While some customers benefit from the convenience of QR-based transfers, others may prefer entering bank details manually or using alternative payment methods.
