Extended Description

There are two ways to use extended descriptions:

The standard description is maintained centrally in the item master data and can be managed in multiple languages.
Depending on the language of the document, the appropriate description is automatically inserted when the item is added to the document.

Representation of different line numbers

Alternatively, the description can be edited directly in the sales or purchase line.
This overrides the default stored description and is ideal for context-specific notes, special text, or custom information for the customer.

Text Entry Editor

An editor is available for both options, working according to the
“What you see is what you get” principle. This means that the text entered in the editor will appear in the report exactly as formatted — including:

  • Bold or italic styling
  • Headings
  • Lists
  • Line breaks and paragraphs

This makes it easier to present structured and readable technical or explanatory content.

Multilingual Support

Standard descriptions can be maintained for different language codes.
When an item is added to a document, the app checks whether a matching description is available for the document’s language — and selects it automatically.

🌍 Example: A French customer will automatically receive the French description, if
      one is maintained.

Display in the Report

The extended description appears directly below the item line, maintaining a clean layout without hiding information.
Combined with line numbers, subtotals, or images, this creates a fully described item block.
